Interweb dwellers, during the talks between the "Writers Guild" and "Hollywood", not much progress has been made. However they both agreed that shevdog's lj is closed to the public and from this point forward is "friends only".

So...

- If you are family or friends, you can sign up for lj, then leave me a message with your name and lj account and I'll friend you.  Of course that is after we do an Interpol background check on you!  Of course you do not have to blog here, yet getting an account is your ticket to the lj realm of blogging.
- On very rare occasions I sure will post something publicly.  Rarely Usually it is either something lame, sometimes something insightful, or often something I'm sharing all across my own websphere.
- Net bots, stalkers, lifeless nerds, and ratbird/clowns fans, sorry to disappoint.
- Other stuff in my own websphere are permanently "friends-only" too.  So you'll have to sign-up and friend me on other networks, my websites, and such...

Fry: But Professor, you time travelled yourself remember? When we went back to Roswell?
Professor Farnsworth: That proves nothing! And furthermore, you'd think I could remember a thing like that; plus, who are you anyway?

The dates for the 2008 Steelers season have finally been release.  And it will be a tough one, though I don't change my predictions at all.

Pittsburgh Penguins
Sounds like I have burgh fever. Well I do and no reason that it is sparked.

Pens have been slumping past couple cames with Crosby out with a sprain ankle. Prior to that, they had a 8 game streak were they didn't lose.

Pens look good, yet there are better teams this year. Yet I called this a couple months back, when things were a little bleek. Pens look like 2007-08 Stanley Cup Champions. They got what it takes. They might not be top seed, yet will be there somewhere in the middle or towards the top. Biggest threat to the Pens is Ottawa and Jersey.

I haven't seen such a telented crew in the igloo since the back-to-back Stanley Cup years of the early 90's.

There is noooo doubt about it that Cid the Kid will hold the Stanley Cup several times! And so will their owner, Mario Lemieux!

Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII???

Thing that was nice in the past about making predictions about the Steeler's upcoming season is that Bill Cowher had been there forever. I was use to how he runs the team and such. Tomlin is different. He isn't so hard to read, yet he is just different.

Coaching aside...

What the Steelers need is two things, actually three:

1. Consistency in play.
2. A solid offensive line
3. Solid special teams

Ok, some adjustments on the coaching staff too...

Tomlin ran things tough last season. I have a feeling he'll let up slightly, which will help the Steelers late in the season, into the playoffs.

So...

In the NFC, I think the Cardinals, Cowboys, and Redskins might pull off some surprises. Yet it is to soon to tell anything about the NFC. I just know that they will finally tighten up and give the NFC a run for their money.

In the AFC,

In the AFC North,

If you see a black box, then this works perfectly.
If not, then I need to adjust the owa57 setting.

Have a nice day!

At work, getting ready for another long day. Good thing I get Friday afternoon's off this summer. Tomorrow will be less desk work, since someone is a group is coming on campus for a demo for new campus software. I am hoping that they have a great package, since I was impressed by what I saw on their site.

My sister's wedding is next Saturday. That means I get Thursday afternoon to Monday afternoon off. I can use the time off. I'll have From the 4th to the 5th off also.

Rangers is tonight, and I'll be going over the conservation pledge and will be getting them to start working on their own time on the Nature Study project. All the Trailblazers are off today for the summer, so they have little excuse. I'll also will be getting on their cases about finishing up reading the Bible. They are all at least halfway done, and can finish it this summer if they try. They have plenty of free time. Wish I could say that... ok maybe not, yet some free time would be nice.

Later

Weekend is fastly approaching, and I still have a full plate of things to do.  Next week will be a challenge, since i have to get everything done before I leave Wednesday night for the Royal Rnager National Training Trail.  I basically have to read 2-3 books by monday night, and have to study for an exam.  I'll be busy.  I have to go to sleep, so I'll post more soon.

I must not fear...

"I must not fear. Fear is the mindkiller. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past me I will turn to see fear's path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

- The Litany against fear, Frank Herbert, Dune
